Like every other aspect of your wedding plans it's best to prepare for your first dance with the same care you give to your choice of venue, caterer, gowns, flowers and music. Start planning months prior to your wedding date so that you can choose your special song, the type of dance you want to do, and take lessons before "wedding frenzy" sets in!

Private lessons are desirable as you will dance exclusively with your fiancée and work on choreography for your first song. If an orchestra will be playing your first song, Taryn will help you choose a recorded version to use during lessons and for practicing at home. Or, bring her a recording you like and she'll help you determine which dance best fits the music (i.e. Foxtrot? Waltz? Swing? Tango? Rhumba? Cha Cha? Salsa/Mambo? Movie Musical Dances? or a Combination of Dances?)

If you would also like the classroom experience where you can meet other couples and learn the basics of a number of different dances, Taryn offers Ballroom Dance classes at ONE Studio in Waterbury Center and other locations in Vermont. Wedding couples often take a combination of both, but the choice is yours!

Taryn will be happy to make suggestions regarding the music for your first dance, the music itinerary for your whole event, or even how to select the right orchestra or DJ for your wedding.

Teaching at Your Wedding or Special Event

“Dancing With the Stars” has burst into every home in America and has captivated every generation of “would be” dancers. Many of your guests may be closet dancers at heart but they seldom have the opportunity to “dance” in a serious way. Your wedding or special event provides the perfect stage for some serious fun and learning a new skill. Taryn enjoys teaching a mini lesson to your guests giving them the confidence to step out onto the dance floor. Your guests will leave your wedding not only having the best time of their lives but having learned a new skill with their partner which will enhance their own romantic relationship.

Performances

Taryn, and one of her dance partners, are also available to perform at your wedding or special event. It's a perfect form of entertainment for your guests and can be the lead in to a mini lesson for your guests.
